Interempresas: Recovery of waste from the production and processing of tomato, olive, potato and cereals
The Agrimax Project has been featured in an article in Canales Sectoriales as part of the Interempresas platform.
The waste of food resources throughout the production chain is the main objective of the European Agrimax project , in which IRTA participates together with 29 institutions and companies from 12 EU countries. Every year, millions of tonnes of products are wasted in the EU in both agricultural production and industrial processing or are used in concepts that provide little or no added value. The Agrimax project, funded by the EU H2020 program, aims to address these figures by evaluating sustainable technologies for the recovery of waste generated throughout the food chain with the aim of producing biocomposites with potential for reuse in different sectors .
